Singing is good; Singing is pleasant; Singing is loving

Have calmed down somewhat from the hyperness of last night...haha. Was buzzing til 4am, when I absolutely had to sleep because my head couldn't take all that adrenaline anymore =P

It was a really great concert, choir people. All that hard work really paid off, and reading all those emails you guys have been sending since... well, you guys have said all I wanted to say =) We really had fun singing, and felt good about the whole thing, and the audience definitely felt our enthusiasm and sincerity... looks like we didn't mis-title the concert afterall *big grin* And I think all of us really appreciate the scolding we got from Miss Lim the other day, eh? Heh heh... my first time performing at VCH, first time not doing a solo thing, and first time emcee-ing. And thanks to all of you wonderful people, it has been an unforgetable experience.

And now... back to the schoolwork. So tragic that I actually have to do work on Sunday, but if I don't I'll never get everything done on time. Am now writing my informative speech for CS106 (on mummification... yes, I'm officially morbid) and damn you James, I sound like you! ARGH!

Interesting site I happened upon today: FinalPartings.com. You're supposed to be able to leave a postmortem message for your loved ones - stuff you wanted to tell them but never could - as long as you leave a set of instructions with the Will and they send in a copy of the death cert. Not a free site, unfortunately, or I'd have signed up for an account just for the fun of it =P (that's probably why it's not a free site... haha...)

Found an apple in my cupboard that was practically hosting its own ecosystem. Eeaarrggh.

Have gone on a library borrowing spree for my essays... and now I have a lovely stack of books sitting on my shelf just waiting to fall on my head. Ain't that wonderful? Let's just hope I don't mire myself with overdue fines by forgetting when all of them are due.

Have not blogged properly for a very long time... and done little much here except post quiz results. I do not know why I bear such fascination with quizzes, since they are often nothing more than the idle trappings of childish minds, written by and for people who seek amusement in rather inane questions and even more foolish answers. Perhaps it is precisely this maudlin qualities that amuse me so, and perhaps I am not so much better off than these quiz-makers - I don't know. (Forgive my strange English - I have just read Chapter 1 of Robin Hobb's "The Assassin's Apprentice", and have thus developed a rather quaint, archaic turn of speech.)

BTW - PJ, the fanfic links seem to be working fine... maybe you tried to read when the server was down or something.

Am stressed, and therefore am doing quizzes like mad... not very productive, and certainly doesn't help lessen the workload, but sure takes my mind off stuff.

La Muerta, in the last year youve earned 643 karma points

Well... that's the lowest points I've seen so far on blogs =P Take the Karma Test

Which Love Actually Character Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

Would much rather have been Mia actually, and get to bat eyes and slow dance with Alan Rickman. Must take this quiz when I'm in more of a Big-Spender-esque mood.

I need to start doing something that bears a closer resemblance to studying.

Spent a bit of my free time in Lib 2 today... was supposed to be looking for some books so I could start on my speech n presentation, and ended up doing anything but. Re-read the first few chapters of Stephen King's "The Stand" instead, and happened upon some interesting psychology books. Did I mention the part where I'm totally hopeless?

Making the effort to wake up early today for piano was such a fucking waste of time. Teacher decided I should just take the day off if I hadn't had time to practice - and she couldn't have told me this earlier, like, before I got out of the house? Or even better, before I woke up at 7 fucking o'clock? (And yes, I am in a very swear-y mood today, and will swear as much as I fucking please because it's my own fucking business what I want to say here.)

In other news, wrote a 15-page report. Have bloody gone and over-done it this time. Now have to spend the rest of Sunday cutting out 5 pages worth of stuff *scowls*

Let's Begin Again

So lets begin again, try another way
Let's begin again, there's a better way
Rule a line and start once more,
Learning from what's gone before
Let's begin again,
Let's find a way to start again

So can we get it right this time?
Possibly. Another chance in sight?
Take things easily
Is there time to care again,
Time to hope and share again?
Is it all too late?
Too late to try it out again?

The starlight in the skies and the moonlight
The firelight in your eyes and the candle light
Ev'ry creature softly bless,
Touching each with tenderness
Helping us to see
To see a better way ahead

The mantle of the night wraps things silently
Nothing mortal shows let's step carefully
Make new tracks together, walk hand in hand
And never run and hide
The paths that we must tread lie side by side
The paths that we must tread lie side by side

Your Jobs: You need a job where you have control and get attention. You would make a good lawyer, politican, model, dancer, artist, or psychologist.
Your love interest will become your willing and devoted slave. They will treat you like a king or queen. You will order, they will obey. If they displease you in anyway, they will be destroyed.
Your dream guy=Peter Parker from Spiderman
Your dream girl=Jean Grey from the XMen

Most Likely...
Are a Aquarius, Aries, or Scorpio
Enjoy crude humor
Prefer comedy movies with sick jokes
Often feel neglected by at least one of your parents
Feel like no one takes you seriously
Enjoy MTV shows that deal with people's relations to one another-like Real World

Best Friends: Social Butterflies, Villians, Creators
Love Interests: Creators
Enemies: Planners, Child, Stars

COMPLETE~~With Text Images~~The Super Ultimate Personality Quiz: Who are you? (With long answers!) All answers available, including your ideal job, ideal love interest, and more all in one answer!
brought to you by Quizilla

Riiiiight. Since when have I become a social butterfly? Much less enjoyed sick/crude humour or MTV (I don't even watch MTV, hello!)?! Oh but I like the part about destroying my love interest and turning him into a slave *smirk*

apathy
Apathy, well I can say your lucky, in some ways.
You see Apathy is no emotion, basically you
don't care. But that does not make you a bad
person. Some of my friends are apathetic and I
love them, but it wouldn't hurt to care a
little more. Trust me life hurts, most people
who are apathetic do it cause they were hurt.
But don't worry, life is pain, its also
pleasure. Good luck. (please vote)

Nothing To Be Said
by Philip Larkin

For nations vague as weed,
For nomads among stones,
Small-statured cross-faced tribes
And cobble-close families
In mill-towns on dark mornings
Life is slow dying.

So are their separate ways
Of building, benediction,
Measuring love and money
Ways of slow dying.
The day spent hunting pig
Or holding a garden-party,

Hours giving evidence
Or birth, advance
On death equally slowly.
And saying so to some
Means nothing; others it leaves
Nothing to be said.

mood

Translation:
Nemo nisi mors.

the subject

utopist. dreamer. cynic. poet. a contradiction. eccentric. cartesian. a starlight in the gloom.

The patient, born in 1984, suffers from a history of idealism of unknown onset and duration.
